An accordion-book illustrating one of Perrault’s famous tales using only symbols. Designed by Warja Lavater these books are made with a 4 meters sheet folded in accordion. The characters, elements of the plot and scenes are represented and symbolized by colour dots or geometric shapes which are translated into French, English and German.
Sleeping Beauty having been stung by the spindle of the wicked fairy finds herself, with all her kingdom, plunged into a deep sleep. Warja Lavater tells us in the form of symbols with soft colors the fulfillment of the curse and the deliverance of this evil spell by a prince. More intense symbols and colors to describe the kingdom invaded by brambles or the appearance of the evil fairy but also the coming of the liberating Prince. And they lived happily…
