About
Following the release of The Illustrators Survival Guide, the guide dedicated to the profession of the illustrator, comes the Survival Guide dedicated to the roles of editor and publisher. Anecdotes and snapshots from publishers reveal the variety of skills involved in the production of a book and the complexity of the relationships among the various professionals working in the field. With essays by Ivan Canu and Giacomo Benelli (Mimaster Illustrazione), and contributions from many editors and publishers – from small independent publishing houses as well as large publishing groups – who have created a collective account of the rules, regulations, passions, and frustrations of those who work with and for books.
This Survival Guide is aimed at those who dream of working in the publishing market, at all readers who want to see what goes on behind the scenes when a book is published, and at all professionals in the sector who will have the pleasure of seeing themselves, with just a hint of irony, in their colleagues’ words.
